Silver Birch Biker Jacket

Worn as a statement piece with the Silver Birch Dress or on it’s own, the Silver Birch Biker Jacket sees modern contemporary style collide with the natural world. It’s edgy, angular form partnered with organic textures reminiscent of the Silver Birch Tree, allow the wearer to exude a sense of quiet feminine power that makes her stand a little straighter with ease and confidence.

Drawn to the contrasting cracks found on the Silver Birch, designer Tarmi developed a fabric treatment that allowed her to replicate this within the pieces of her Silver Birch line. The jacket takes this a step further, with two splits at the back, which add more creative intrigue to this piece.

Worn over a skirt or dress, to an event or in the office, this wearable art piece can easily be incorporated into your wardrobe as a perfect statement piece.

Choice of lining dye colours are – White and Apricot or White and Peach

MAIN FABRIC
The Silver Birch fabric texture has been designed and created by Tarmi in her studio using appliqué and embroidery.

The base fabric is a Slub Silk Dupion. The natural variations that form the texture of the slub fabric compliment the appliqué and embroidery that has been inspired by the bark of a Silver Birch tree .

LINING FABRIC
Each Jacket is fully lined in Silk Habotai. The dye pattern takes inspiration from the mushrooms on Tarmi’s art couture garment ‘Mycelium‘. The lining is hand dyed by Tarmi using the Japanese Shibori technique, Arashi. Also known as pole-wrapping shibori to create a wavy pattern within the colour.

All garments are made-to-order, so that we can reduce waste and impact on the environment. Allow for a 3 week turn around. You will be notified when your new art inspired garment is ready to send.
